Have you ever noticed a random Facebook 'Like'?

Ever come across a friend who has liked something strange on facebook? Yep, so have I. Have you ever asked that friend why they liked it and had the response:
"Wait, what?  I didn't like that!?"
Well there's a chance your friend is lying, but let me explain another possibility.

If you're reading this far, and you've come from my homepage, there's a good chance you've just 'liked' this blog post on facebook without even knowing. Scroll up to the top of the post, it will now display the facebook likes for this page.  Chances are it says 'You and ... like this'.

I'm going to give you some tips on how to prevent this happening to you on other peoples websites.

Click Jacking prevention tips:
  1. The most effective and easiest way is to log out of facebook while viewing other websites.  This will force you to actually log in to Facebook before confirming a 'Like' click.
  2. Install security software that prevents or warns of 'Click Jacking'.  Unfortunately, these will not be flawless but is better than nothing!
  3. This final tip is more of a detection rather than prevention tip.  But in Facebook, if you view your Activity Log you will be able to see what has been 'Liked' in your account.  From here you can easily remove an unwanted likes.
Soon I will update this blog post to include an interactive example so that you can actually visualize how a 'Click Jacking' technique might work.
