Shed floor before applying Epoxy
Shed floor after applying Epoxy
Instructions
- Remove everything
- Sweep floor clean
- Acid etch - presoak floor then sweep away any pools of water, mix acid into 20L bucket with water
- Pour onto concrete in sections. Do each section twice by scrubbing with a hard bristle brush then hose off. Once all sections done do a final hose off of entire area
- Once dry give area a vacuum to pick up any fine dust
- Measure area out into four sections and place tape on the edge of the area on the walls as an indicator to work to (not on floor). Divide specs up into four containers (I had some kitchen scales handy so I did it accurately) and place ready near the edge of each area.
- Get roller tray, roller and cut in paint brush, epoxy kit and mixing stick ready near the first section (furthest away from entry)
- Pour part a into part b and mix for 3 mins, then let sit until ready to use (10mins at 24 degrees Celsius). During this time I put tape down the outside of the paint tin, marked the top of the paint line on the tape, then measured the height of the can to the line and divided by four, marked those extra three lines to give me levels to work to for each section to ensure I was using 1/4 of the paint for each section.
- After 10mins pour the first 1/4 of paint into roller tray then start cutting in the edges with the paint brush. Then start rolling on, working quickly. Once rolled from one side to the other, did a final roll back the whole way to ensure a wet coat then throw the specs from a height over the whole area to ensure even coverage.
- Move roller tray and paint can back and start the cut in on the next section. Then start rolling making sure to maintain a wet edge over the first section, its OK if you paint over some specs. Continue until done all sections.
- Paint brush and roller can be thrown out, you won't be able to reuse them. Let dry for 18hrs before walking on.
